After 3 years, Lewis is content to hang out on the deck railing, literally, taking swipes at everything on reconnaissance missions past the feeder--from ravens and bluejays to swallows. Leila . I don't have a cat with this name, but I've thought that it is a gorgeous name which flows well. It's Arabic for "night" or "born at night" and would make a great name for a mysterious looking, exotic little girl cat .
Inkie. I have owned Inkie for a little more than 2 years. She was a stray; my son found her hanging out at his apartment complex and with no pets allowed; he thought I should have another cat. Being the cat lover that I am-I said yes. Inkie was a mess: Matted coat; fleas; underweight (she weighed 4 pounds.) All that's gone now and she weights a healthy 9 pounds. Inkie is a black domestic long-hair with an independent streak as wide as any inter-state highway. Recently, she has learned to knock on the front door to come in, if you don't open the door IMMEDIATELY, the louder the knock. Last April she was run over and sustained a broken shoulder; nine broken ribs; and internal bleeding. Well, she survived and I call her my $1000.00 stray. But the main reason she is so special to me is that my son Brian gave her to me; Brian was killed in an car accident in May 1997. Every time I look at or hold Inkie, I think of Brian and his caring nature. . Submitted by gretchen goodyear <gege@worldnet.att.net>

My sister was taking a japanese language course and suggested Kichi (translates as crazy). It stuck. We later got a kitten through the S.P.C.A. and named him Tosco (rough in spanish) as he proceeded to tackle and rough-house with our very prissy Kichi. Mouse. She looked like a little rat when we took her in, but Mouse sounds better.
Phantom. When you can't tell if the kitten is a male or a female, then 'Phantom' is ideal! Then if she's a girl, she can be 'Phanny'. If a boy, then he can be 'Tom'! It really is a bit better if it's a boy and you have dogs. Then, when you pick him up for cuddles, he's a 'fine Tom'. You can get the dogs to 'find Tom', or he can be simple 'TomTom'. Frank, Midnight and Fluffy. Frank was a cat my family had when I was a baby. He was very protective over me when I was in my crib. He would always make sure nothing happened to me. I never remembered Frank but I heard he was a sweet cat. He was a Mane Coon. Midnight was the name of a cat that my family had for almost ten years. She was a very good cat but she died because of seizures. We think she got bitten by a snake. She was a black cat and she didn't like to be messed with very much but she was a really great cat. Midnight is a great name for a cat. It's simple and a good name. Fluffy is the name of the kitten I have now. she's the sweetest little thing. She's like a doll. She is a Mane Coon also. We named her Fluffy because she had the fluffiest fur when we got her. She's not so fluffy now but she'll be beautiful when she is a cat. Fluffy is now the only cat we have and hopefully she'll always be with us. I hope these cat names were a real help..

Patrick is after the goalie for the colorado avalanche and for St. Patrick because a saints name is good to have. To me it is the bestest name for the bestest cat in the whole woild. .
Paczki. Paczki is a 5 year old female, Paczki is polish for a type of pastry, dough filled with jelly, we named her this because we found her pregnant about 3 years ago. She was filled with 5 kittens! We kept her son Stormy and the other 4 found good homes. . <Paczki4>
Kisa, Zoe and Aslan. Kisa is my other cat that I now have. She is also jet black and is actually half-Siamese. She will be 9 years old in May. I named her Kisa, because it means "kitten" in Russian. I found it in a name book and liked the sound of it. Zoe and Aslan are mother and daughter. I found Zoe when she was thrown out of a car when she was pregnant, and I rescued her. I named her Zoe because it means"life" and I felt it was a good name for a new beginning. Aslan, one of her kittens was actually the runt of the litter, but she was the first to open her eyes, the first to walk and the first to go exploring. I thought she was as brave as a lion, so I named her Aslan, after the Aslan, the Lion King of Narnia in the Chronicles of Narnia (even though she is female). I just moved and could only keep two cats so I kept the two oldest and surrendered Zoe and Aslan to the SPCA. Within three or four days, they had found new homes, although not together. . <keely@octonet.com>
Merlin. My cat, Merlin, is almost 15 years old and a black Bombay. When I got him he was a little devil and I almost named him Lucifer. I thought he might grow like that name, so for some reason, I thought of Merlin, which actually means "blackbird". He is my "Mr. Cat" and I love him dearly, . <keely@octonet.com>

Isis, Bastet, and Osiris. A friend once told me "The ancient Egyptians worshiped cats as gods; cats have NEVER forgotten this." So when we adopted a little black kitten (with a few white hairs on her chest) we named her Isis since black cats are sacred to the Goddess Isis. When we adopted a little white kitten, we felt Bastet was an appropriate name because the Goddess Bastet is sometimes referred to as The Great White Mother. And finally, when a little black boy kitten showed up on our doorstep, and we realized he looked just like Isis, we knew we had to name him Osiris. Osiris was the husband/twin brother to Isis.
Duncan B. Good. He was originally called Duncan, but the B. Good came along after we got to know him better. He lives up to his name daily.
